This relatively small extension greatly expanded the living space of this once conventional home, creating light and above all additional living space. The family was in need of extra office space as a result of home working demands and a larger dining room was also required.

A rear extension was designed by continuing the existing roof slope down to single-storey level. This provided the much needed additional ground floor space, together with the introduction of rooflights at first-floor level, thus also allowing the extension of one of the bedrooms and the provision of a first-floor storeroom.

Folding patio doors were fitted to the rear of the new dining space, allowing immediate access to the garden.
